Divertimento: Neurogardens
The Neurogardens is a series of animations and prints that combine aspects of neuroscience, media, information science and modern art movements. The impetus for the work comes from recent developments in neuroscience and visual perception and the possibilities of computer generated imaging. The optical artists of the mid 20th Century, Gruppo T, Carlos Cruz-Diaz, and J.R. Soto, made "opticalscapes" into tangible reality. The technologies available today make it possible to construct virtual spaces based on neuro and cognitive models. These are output as animations, archival digital prints, photogravures, and lenticular prints.
